A dose of new music always goes down a treat and here at Tap The Feed we make sure to bring you the good stuff. Today we bring you the premiere of emerging project Abstract Typography’s debut single ‘Grasp the Nettle’ – a song that will grasp you in seconds.
Abstract Typography is a solo project by Bristol/Bath based songwriter Stan Bull who introduces his creativity in the scene. ‘Grasp the Nettle’ is his first official release and was recorded at Radstock’s Avalon Studios – with the track produced and mixed by Stan and Confectionery band member Connor Goldfrey.
The track itself is raw and rough on the edges but in no way holding back with gripping guitar, killer bass riffs and solid drumming to round it off. Stan also steps up on lead vocal duties, adding the final touch to the noisy slacker rock piece.
Talking about the song and ethos, Stan, said:
“I’ve been writing and recording songs in my bedroom since I was about 14, and although I wanted to step up the production a notch for this one, it was still really important to me that we kept it sounding raw and unpolished.
“I’ve always encouraged a DIY spirit with my music, and most of my favourite artists seem to have a clear ethos in how they want their work to be presented, even if it’s not to everyone’s taste.”
Stan is currently recruiting live members to join the project for upcoming gigs, and is encouraging potential drummers to get in touch via the group’s Facebook page.
Abstract Typography is due to release more music in the coming months so be sure to follow the project on bandcamp.
