The National announce new album I Am Easy To Find

It’s been brewing up for a while now but The National have confirmed details of their eighth studio album, I Am Easy To Find, the follow-up to 2017’s Sleep Well Beast, out on 17th May via 4AD.

To mark the announcement, the band have shared a short film starring Alicia Vikander and directed by album co-producer Mike Mills in addition to single ‘You Had Your Soul With You’ featuring vocals from Gail Ann Dorsey.

The record will also feature guest spots from artists including Sharon Van Etten, Lisa Hannigan and Brooklyn Youth Chorus.

“Yes, there are a lot of women singing on this, but it wasn’t because, ‘Oh, let’s have more women’s voices,’ says frontman Matt Berninger; “It was more, ‘Let’s have more of a fabric of people’s identities.’ It would have been better to have had other male singers, but my ego wouldn’t let that happen.”

The band will be hitting the road in April as part of their A Special Evening With The National, in addition to a summer tour from June, with support coming from Courtney Barnett and Alvvays.
