Sorry we’ve been a little quiet with the summer holidays, world cup and all (it’s coming home!). We hope this ace roundup of new tunes from last week will make up for our absence.
Black Honey continue their stardom with the announcement of their debut album along with new single ‘I Only Hurt The Ones I Love’. Explosive sounds and visuals led by the infectious Izzy B. Phillips. Keep on rocking!
Celebrating her own independence, Bristol based artist LENN has come out with summer banger ‘Cheap Talk’ with Lex (SIGMA, Kamille, TS Graye) on production duties and LENN’s soaring vocals going above and beyond. Also the colourful lyric video, adding more flavour to the message at hand.
The charming indie pop two-piece of Her’s never disappoints and with their debut album out next month, the Liverpool based duo have shared another tease with single ‘Harvey’. Sugary hooks, glittery strings, lush vocal and disco-like chimes make this one a must listen.
Another must listen is ‘Henry Creek’ from Bristol group Langkamer with their debut album fast approaching via Breakfast Records. The new single is simply made for this weather; easy going lyrics, dreamy guitar tones and vocals that’ll drift you into a summer daze. Lovely stuff.
We mentioned that we’ve been a little quiet but that doesn’t mean we’ve not been consuming music. One of this month’s album releases (and fantastic debut record we might add) from New York band Bodega has been on constant repeat. Single ‘Charlie’ from album Endless Scroll (out now) has been given a fun chilled video to match the personal lyrics and jingling rhythms the song has to offer. Plus the band just played a cracking live set at The Fleece last week – so all in all – go and check out this band!
