We’re back with another round-up of fab new tunes of the past week, so out with the snow and in with the hottest tracks.
Saltwater Sun – The Wire
Saltwater Sun have returned with ‘The Wire’. Sounding both fresh and relevant, the Reading five-piece shine with soaring guitar lines, pounding drums and vocals that are simply winning. A showstopper.
Sigrid – Raw
We’re still buzzing from Sigrid’s incredible performance at Motion (check out our photos here). The pop artist has since shared her new single ‘Raw’, a dazzling charm that grows as you listen more and more. A star in the making.
Be Softly – Graphite
The label behind the Poisonous Birds releases have unleashed some of their own music as a collaborative project with the band. Downtempo electronica with scattering percussion that brings you at ease, ‘Graphite’ is a collective piece from Be Softly that stands still in time, sending you into another reality.
Courtney Barnett – Need A Little Time
Another hit from Courtney Barnett as she shares her new song ‘Need A Little Time’. A reflective piece that allows the storytelling to unfold, plus a crazy funky video which sees Barnett set off into space. Make what you will of it but it’s all good nonetheless.
World Machine – Affection
Bringing much needed warmth to contemporary pop music, London duo World Machine have shared their first release of 2018. ‘Affection’ is incredibly slick and packaged for stardom with groovy synth, electric guitar and infectious vocals that’ll have you hooked in seconds.
ZELAH – Wide Awake
We premiered this gem last week and it’s been on repeat ever since. Three-piece ZELAH return with new single ‘Wide Awake’, introducing their emotive ambient pop that’s both dark and beautiful. Hit play and listen.
Dogeyed – Deep Dreaming
I’m sure you’ve seen these guys live a few times in Bristol; the sharp indie sounds of Dogeyed are certainly grabbing people’s attention. Their single ‘Deep Dreaming’ captures the raw energy seen at live shows into a stellar sound that’s straight up brilliant and honest. Listen here.
Pip Hall – Fire
Singer-songwriter Pip Hall is not shy from making memorable pieces. Latest cut ‘Fire’ does just that and more; atmospheric pop that sparkles throughout, Hall doesn’t hold back in this adventurous solo piece.
